Last night was the fourth Geek Dinner called ‘Dangerous Drumstick at Summerville’. It was the first time I had the opportunity to attend one of these dinners and I decided to prepare a talk and presentation on “Channels of Communication”. Overall it went very well and I feel it was because my confidence had improved since my previous talk on “The End of Email”.
The way in which we communicate has changed this century. There are so many more ways to get your message out to your target audience directly or indirectly. As you all know LightSpeed 2.0 has moved out of the IT Support arena and into a new era. We have shifted our focus to Web Development and online Social Media Marketing strategies. Perhaps you know us from before, or perhaps you have read our background on the About page. Either way, you’ll know that not so long ago, our bread and butter was support; servicing small to medium sized businesses in and around Cape Town. We now offer a completely different service catalogue, and absolutely love the new and positive web realm that we have entered. However, as a result of running a support business for 5 years, there is a plethora of hardware lining our walls and floors. We have decided that loose computer entrails are not very becoming of a New Media Web 2.0 specialist company and we would very much like to rid ourselves of the vast amount of old LightSpeedDevelopment footprints in our office. An open, light and creative work environment is our aim.
Now, before anyone loses it, we know blogging should not be used for cold, hard direct marketing. And that is not our intention here. So nothing more will be said. If anything we have mentioned in this post intrigues you, you can look here, or feel free to get in touch with us. Meanwhile we look forward to filling our rooms with the fresh, clean and crisp smell of Web 2.0.
