Download

There are two locations you can download the Maps Extension Plugin from:

  1. You can download this extension directly off our website at – https://www.lsdev.biz/product/tour-operator-maps/
  2. The TO Maps Extension is also available directly from the back-end of your website
  • Login to the backend of your website
  • Hover over the “Tour Operator” menu item and select the “Add-Ons” sub-menu item
  • You will notice a list of the available Tour Operator Add-ons
  • Select the add-on labelled “Maps”
  • You will be redirected to our website where you can purchase and download the plugin

Install

  • Navigate to the back-end of your WordPress websitemap-install
  • Hover over the “Plugins” item on your Dashboard
  • Select the “Add New” sub item
  • Select the “Upload Plugin” option and choose the “TO Maps” extension file you recently downloaded
  • Select “Install Now”
  • Once the plugin is installed, select “Activate Plugin”

Setup

Once the Maps extension is installed, you then need to configure the Maps settings in your Tour Operator settings menu.

API License Activation

Activate your extension by inserting the license key you received when completing purchase of the extension.

  • Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard
  • Hover over the “Tour Operators” menu item and select the “Settings” option
  • Here you will notice a number of menu items
  • You will land in the “Display” tab
  • Navigate to the tab labelled “API”
  • Select the “License Keys” sub-item
  • You will notice a field heading “Tour Operator Maps”
  • FIll your valid registration email and API key into the provided fields
  • Select “Activate”

Maps General Settings

  • Navigate to your WordPress Dashboard
  • Hover over the “Tour Operators” menu item and select the “Settings” option
  • Here you will notice a number of menu items
  • Select the “Display” optionmap-general
  • The Display sub-menu will now have an item marked “Maps”
  • Here you can configure the following display options:

Choose a default marker – Select an image from your gallery or computer to use as a default map marker

Choose a cluster marker – Select an image from your gallery or computer to use as a default map marker for cluster marking

  • Once this is complete, move from the Display tab to the API tab in your settings menu
  • Here you will enter your Google Maps API Key, your TO Maps add-on will not function without this

Getting a Google Maps API Key

  • Head to the Google Developers Website
  • Select the “Get a Key” option
  • A popup will appear with the option to “Select or create project”
  • Select this option and the “create new project” from the dropdown
  • Next, enter the name of your project (the name of your company or website is perfect)

  • Select “Create and Enable API”
  • You will then be redirected to another popup modal that contains your API Key
  • Copy this API Key and Paste it into the Google Maps API Key field in your Tour Operator Plugin Settings
