mLab is a South African company with the aim of supporting innovative new startups to unlock the mobile apps economy.
They had a site that we had built for them in 2011 that was in need of an overhaul to bring it up to modern standards of form and functionality.
We used our LSX Theme to rebuild their old site, with the only content being imported from it being the news / posts section.
A custom post type for “Startups” was created, and a homepage carousel displays that feeds through the stories of each startup with informational text. Each startup also then has its own landing page.
We used modal enquiry forms for each of the “labs” that connect with each of their centres. We used the simple but powerful Popup Maker plugin for this. Gravity forms used – although we often prefer to use Caldera, Gravity Forms was already known to the client.
We used the premier event plugin, Tribe Events, to allow the client to display even times, availability and booking option on their site.
As a very active Twitter users, mLab has a Twitter widget embedded in their footer that scrolls infinitely so that users need not leave the site to get the company’s latest tweets.
LightSpeed also took care of the design of the site, creating both homepage and archive page designs.
