Overland360 offers tailor-made tour packages that indulge the most adventurous and luxurious wish-lists. They provide self drive and guided safaris, fishing expeditions, “glamping” experiences, honeymoon tours and more.
Overland360 wanted a website that could showcase their Tours and clearly show information related to them like price, day-by-day itinerary information, image galleries, and travel style. They wanted to give clients the ability to search for travel experiences either by tour or by destination
The website also needed to feature the the types of vehicles used as well as details on the specific tour or safari guides that led each tour.
A SEO challenge we encountered was that content would be duplicated on the destination and tour archives pages from the single post types in the respective post types.
To Solve the SEO issue, we used the rel=canonical feature in Yoast SEO, the essential WordPress plugin for onsite content search engine optimization.
We made use of our LSX Tour Operator plugin to cater exactly to to Overland360’s needs. Its custom post types for tours, destinations, vehicles, and team members made it easy to load the content they provided us with. All that we needed to do was some custom styling to match a few of their more specific web design requirements.
For the design of the site we first created wireframes and had a few rounds of feedback via BugHerd to keep us and the clients on the same page.
For the galleries displayed on the tour and destination pages we used Envira Gallery which showcases Overland360s excellent photography perfectly on all sizes.
Other plugins we used to complete this project included Caldera Forms, our favourite form plugin for WordPress, as well as the MailChimp add-on for capturing newsletter signups.
